I'm Jia. I've been photographing people for years, and the ones I like best are the ones who show up saying "I'm terrible at this."
I moved to Austin from San Francisco and I've shot just about everything since: weddings, yoga portfolios, families, one very energetic dog in a bluebonnet field. What I kept noticing is that the guys who came to me for dating photos needed the most help and got the most out of it. They didn't need a better camera pointed at them. They needed someone to tell them the truth about how they were coming across, and then make it easy.
So that's what I do now. I'm direct, I'm not precious about it, and I'll tell you if a shirt isn't working. Most of my clients say the whole thing felt less like a photoshoot and more like hanging out with someone who happens to be good at this.

Her Take + Glow-up
Twenty minutes, free, on a call: I pull up your current profile and go photo by photo, telling you exactly what each one is saying, so either you leave with a plan or you leave knowing your photos are already fine. Then we shoot where your life actually is, whether that's your coffee spot, the greenbelt, your kitchen or the gym, and I direct the entire thing, so you never have to figure out what to do with your hands. A week later we sit down together, pick the lineup, put them in order, and fix your prompts while we're at it. You leave with a profile that's live.

Almost nobody who books me thinks they are. Most of my clients haven't had a good photo of themselves in years. You don't need to know how to pose or what to do with your face. That's my job, and I'll be talking you through it the entire time.
No, and this matters more than people realize. Overly retouched photos read as fake on dating apps, and lately they read as AI. I shoot in natural light, I don't smooth anyone's skin into plastic, and my clients consistently say the photos look like them. That's the point.
Because I'm the audience. I can tell you which photo makes you look kind, which one makes you look like you're trying too hard, and which one she's going to screenshot and send to her group chat. Most photographers can only tell you which one is technically better.
It's not. It's a practice round. Two hours of a woman paying attention to you and telling you what's working, with nothing riding on it. A lot of guys say that part was more useful than the photos.
We'll cover it on the Her Take call and I'll send you a short guide. Ninety percent of the time it's already in your closet and you just need someone to tell you which shirt.
